Activ8me has upheld its position as No.1 provider of nbn Sky Muster™ satellite internet services, according to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) NBN Wholesale Market Indicators Report released today.
Activ8me (listed under Australian Private Networks Pty Ltd) has held the number one spot for the past four consecutive quarterly reports.
The ACCC’s NBN Wholesale Market Indicators Report provides a count of the number of NBN services in operation by access technology, including FTTP, FTTB, FTTN, HFC, fixed wireless, and satellite. It has been published every quarter since April 2016.
For the period ending 30 September 2017, Activ8me had 27,429 services in operation (SIO). Activ8me has tripled its SIOs from 8,870 in the first reporting period, ending 31 March 2016.
Activ8me Chairman Tony Bundrock said: “Connecting Australians in remote areas to faster internet remains our key focus and strength, and our consistent position as number one provider for Sky Muster™ satellite internet services is a testament to that.”
Over the last year, Activ8me has been a strong advocate for its customers to nbn™ to revise the nbn™ Fair Use Policy on satellite services and increase monthly data allowances. This came to fruition in October 2017, when Activ8me was able to launch new affordable satellite plans increasing the peak data allowance from 60GB to 200GB per month.
“We’re immensely satisfied with the work we’re doing with Sky Muster™. As Australia’s largest satellite internet provider, we will continue to work with nbn™ to ensure our customers’ needs are met and look forward to connecting even more Australians to the reliable, fast internet service they need.”
One company experiencing the advantages of faster, more reliable internet is Coast Pictures, a small video production company based on the north-east coast.
“I moved to Topi Topi five years ago, and had problems getting good internet coverage. I used the hot spot on my mobile phone and would run out of data within days,” Coast Pictures founder Glenn Leahy said.
“Since joining Activ8me, I have 120GB of data each month with really fast speeds. It’s vastly improved the service that I can give clients. It’s made a massive difference to my life and business.”
Sky Muster™ can reach speeds of up to 25/5Mbps, which is equivalent to metro broadband services. Mr Bundrock explains this speed opens up new opportunities for Australia’s most remote businesses and families.
“Poor ADSL, 3G, and older satellite services simply cannot match Sky Muster™ in terms of speed. This makes the service especially attractive for regional and rural Australians without fixed line options,” he said.
Signing up to a Sky Muster™ service can be done by calling Activ8me on 13 22 88.
Most installations are completed within 30 days of the order being submitted directly to nbn™ by Activ8me. More information on the nbn™ Sky Muster™ satellite service is available at www.activ8me.net.au/skymuster
